Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA (Buenaventura) is a Peru-based mining company engaged in the exploration, exploitation, processing and sale of gold and silver, as well as other metals and minerals. It operates seven mining units located in Peru: Julcani, Recuperada, Orcopampa, Poracota, Uchucchacua, Antapite and Ishihuinca. Through Sociedad Minera El Brocal SAA (El Brocal) and Compania de Exploraciones, Desarrollo e Inversiones Mineras SAC (Cedimin), the Company is involved in the operation of the Shila-Paula, Marcapunta and Colquijirca mines. It also owns electric power transmission company, electric power generation company and engineering services consulting company, as well as has interest in other mining companies, including a 43.65% interest in Yanacocha, a Peruvian partnership, which operates South America’s gold mine, and 19.26% stake in Cerro Verde, a Peruvian company that operates a copper mine located in the south of Peru.
